Michelle McManus' Contract with Michigan's Citizens

Our Founding Fathers built the American governmental system upon the fact that Americans are granted and guaranteed their rights by their Maker, not by any form of government. They enshrined these unalienable truths in a Bill of Rights - 10 unbreakable testaments to the freedoms of mankind.

As your public servant, Michelle McManus will hold herself not only to those fundamental obligations, but also to these 10 principles - a Contract with Michigan citizens.

1. Protect your pocketbook: Michelle McManus is the one candidate that will stand up for Michigan taxpayers on matters big and small. She is the only candidate that voted against the Michigan Business Tax and has consistently voted against Governor Granholm's tax increases.
2. Defend the right to bear arms: Michelle McManus is a lifetime member of the NRA, a CCW permit holder, and the only candidate to have a successful hunting season last year. She understands the sacred right of citizens to keep and bear arms.
3. Defend the 10th Amendment: Michelle McManus has consistently been supportive of states rights and said no to federal mandates. She believes that the states serve as an important check and balance to the expansive power of the federal government.
4. Stop illegal immigration: Michelle McManus is the one candidate that has legislation to bring the Arizona illegal immigration law to Michigan. She understands that Michigan citizens have their legal vote jeopardized when illegal immigrants participate in our election process.
5. Extend personal liberty: Michelle McManus has consistently fought to repeal Michigan's motorcycle helmet law. Citizens do not need this type of government intervention in their lives.
6. Defend the right to life: Michelle McManus has been steadfast in her support of the unborn. It was her legislation to ban partial birth abortion that was vetoed by Governor Granholm and then successfully became the "People's Override".
7. Ensure equality for all: Michelle McManus has sponsored legislation that would ban affirmative action practices in Michigan.
8. Increase government transparency: Michelle McManus has fought for tougher campaign finance laws, more frequent reporting, and more transparent legal defense funds.
9. Fight voter fraud: Michelle McManus has fought potential voter fraud issues like no-reason absentee voting, early voting, and the attempts to repeal photo ID requirements. She is happy to get "carded" on Election Day!
10. Deliver top-notch customer service: Michelle McManus believes that we will have to do more with less in these economic times. As a small business owner she has the knowledge to save, stretch and cut a dollar while still providing top-notch customer service.

A Conservative We Can Trust

Every candidate you talk to in this race will say they are pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, and anti-tax. But I'm the only candidate for Secretary of State to have my bill to ban partial-term abortion vetoed by Governor Granholm, the only candidate who is an active hunter and the only candidate who voted against the Michigan Business Tax. These are some of the reasons why I have been supported by Michigan Right to Life, the National Rifle Association and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce in every one of my legislative races.

The Best Chance to Beat the Democrats in November

A Republican candidate for Secretary of State can't expect to beat the Democrat nominee, Jocelyn Benson, with just a firm handshake and a smile - especially when she comes hand-picked and funded by liberal billionaire George Soros. I come from humble roots and still maintain my cherry farm in northern Michigan with my father, so I'm no Bill Gates. But that hasn't stopped me from raising more money than all the other GOP candidates combined. Just like the Republican grassroots, the donor community is backing my campaign because of my vision and record, and because they recognize the strength of the McManus name, which has been on the ballot in 36 counties and in front of a million Michigan voters over the last 20+ years. I also believe this is why all the polls have shown that I will beat the likely Democrat nominee.
